A graduate of Vestal High School, Mr. Butler then went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio and his J.D. from Western Michigan University-Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.

Mr. Butler had been a practicing trial attorney for 23 years and his practice focuses on civil litigation, family law and criminal defense. He is admitted to the State Bars of New York and Pennsylvania and is also admitted to practice in the Federal Bar in the Northern District of New York and Middle District of Pennsylvania.

After a previous stint as a college lacrosse coach, he returned to Vestal after law school and became a volunteer coach with the Vestal Youth Football league, Vestal Youth Lacrosse and Vestal United Lacrosse, a non-profit lacrosse program focusing on promoting the sport of lacrosse in Vestal. He also previously served as assistant coach for the Vestal High School Junior Varsity Lacrosse and Football teams. Mr. Butler has served on several boards including the Broome County Bar Association’s Board of Directors, and has been the attorney for the Town of Vestal Zoning Board of Appeals for over 17 years. He is currently a Judge for the Town of Vestal Court.

He is a member of the Broome County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the American Association for Justice.

He lives in Vestal, New York with his wife, Marisa, and has two children, Ally and Jared.
